Linksys Wireless Adapter install
The following document is intended to outline the configuration changes required for using your Linksys wireless card. This process should be completed after the installation of your wireless Access Point. Do not insert the Wireless adapter into your PC until after the software has been installed. If you insert the wireless adapter prior to completing step 6 undesirable results will occur due to your system not having the required software for the adapter.
The following information will be required to install and configure your wireless network adapter.
A. Linksys Wireless Network adapter (The same adapter that was configured to be permitted in the Access Point configuration document.)
B. Installation CD that came with your Adapter
C. SSID
D. Pre-Shared Key
Install Software
The first step of the process is to install the software on your laptop for the new network adapter. Insert the software CD that came with your adapter.
Step 1: The welcome screen will appear click Install to continue
Step 2: The license agreement screen will appear click Next after reading the
agreement.
Step 3: The screen will appear to select your mode for the network Adapter.
Select the 5 GHz + 2.4 GHz and click Next

Step 4: Select your Wireless Mode from the next screen. Select Infrastructure mode. Then replace the default SSID with the SSID you choose during the install process of your Access Point. Then Select Next

Step 5: The next screen confirms your Settings and gives you a chance to change anything. At this point Click Next to Continue.
Step 6: The software will then install on your computer once it is completed Click the exit button to continue the installation.


Step 7: Once the software is installed insert your wireless adapter in your computer. The computer will then install some software for the new hardware that was just installed.
Step 8: A new Icon will appear in your Task bar. Double click this Icon ![]()
Step 9: From the window that appears Select Profile

Step 10: From the profiles windows select the default profile and Select Edit. After selecting Edit from the window that appears Continue to click next until the security settings window appears.

Step 11: Once the Security Settings window appears Select WPA-PSK from the encryption type drop down box. Then Select Next.

Step 12: The next step is to Choose AES as the encryption type and then enter your Pre-Shared key from the configuration process of your Access Point.

Step 13: One last step and your ready to use your new wireless connection. The final screen will appear and ask you to save your settings. Click the save button Once you save the settings you will be shown a screen to “Activate new settings now”. Click Activate and you’re on your way.
